It's funny because like, he doesn't do drugs in his movies. No. But it does feel like it fills that category. So yeah. You can do drugs to his movies. Yeah. There's other people

[00:01:41] doing drugs, but that's never been his shtick. Yeah, do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we did this one. Oh, yes. So Jalen Sandler and Bob Strike Back, Euro Trip, Friday, and now Happy Gilmore. So solidly in those, that comedy lane for Mark. Has he been on, I think he's only missed

And we'll be able to see each other face to face in about a month. We're doing a cousin's camping trip in Yosemite. So we're going to go for a long weekend and it should be super fun. I've never met your youngest. So I'm

So yeah, no, he, he, he was, we were obviously with his challenges and stuff, you know, we were concerned with them early on, but he continues to amaze us. You'll see him. You'll

And they're going to be like, who is this? I'm like, it's, it's okay. I'm important. You just don't know. There's some new things that we've added since you were last here. We realized that

[00:03:50] we never get to talk about any of the fun shows that we're watching right now or movies. What have you guys been watching lately? Mark, I'll let you go first. Yeah. Well, for me, like I'm, I'm super busy, honestly, with, with the work and everything. And right now we're just trying to make as much money as possible to, you know, get the kids as much as they can trips and stuff throughout the summer. So I honestly, it's like, whatever the kids are watching

[00:04:17] for whatever reason, Ryland is loving Michael Jackson. So we have the Michael Jackson movie on repeat. You'll, you'll see his moonwalk. I saw a little bit of it on him and Ellie dancing. Everywhere. I don't know if you saw, I did a little Facebook post not too long ago about a little dude's day we had, but we got to go on a baseball field and I'm talking to my buddy and he's moonwalking

[00:04:46] on a baseball field. But anyway, we have that on repeat. They discovered the movie moonwalkers from like the late eighties. It's a Michael Jackson movie. Brandon Quinton Adams is in that one. I, we, I literally just five days ago, I discovered what this is. Nolan's been asking me to put it on. I'm like the claymation, creepy little things. Don't creep you out.

[00:05:11] So like, we're literally just Michael Jackson music videos, thriller, everything, everything. Love it. So, I mean, there's always keeps up with her reality TV wise and all that stuff. So she gets her drama fixed through all of that stuff. For me, I just watch sports. I'm always watching sports. We just got done watching the world cup. That was, that was cool. I liked, I liked seeing all of the fans and I liked seeing all the Tik TOK videos and all the support that foreigners gave us and stuff

[00:05:38] like that over here. It was kind of, it was kind of eyeopening to hear their perspective, just on like food and just enjoying it. Yeah. Yeah. Who would have thought Waffle House would have been a hit? Everything. It was, it was amazing to see how amazed they were with some of our everyday comforts, I guess. Yeah. Which, which team were you initially rooting for? So I'm, I'm a messy fan. I just remember when I was a kid watching a kid play soccer.

[00:06:04] Yeah. And it just seemed like every year, every four years when the world cup was on, this kid was doing good. I don't, I don't watch the sport. I don't know the politics behind stuff. Apparently Argentina is not the best country to root for sometimes, but I was just going for messy, honestly. So I, I just, I liked the jersey. I liked the name and all that stuff. Ryland would like Ronaldo. I'm sure most women and most kids like Ronaldo. He's the GOAT apparently. But anyway, so we were, we were, you know, one foot in, one foot out

[00:06:34] more, more of my sports watching is just background noise. I'm doing stuff around the house and the kids are running them up. So mostly just sports, but. We did watch quite well, I say we, Ken and his sister watched a lot of world cup. And then I had questions such as how long do you do soccer for? Right. Like when is this going to be over? 90 minutes plus however much time that they want to play extra. Could be five, could be 10,

[00:07:04] could be 10, but the clock is still running until 12 minutes. I'm like, okay. And we were in Colorado at a brewery for the final world cup game. And so it was on and everyone's super into it. And Ken and I are just sitting at the bar playing card games. And then his sister text messaged me like halftime's coming up. BTS is performing. I was like, okay, I'm clocked in now. And so that I was like, hold on, we have to watch the halftime show. So

[00:07:32] that's as much world cup as I watched, but I went and saw Spider-Man brand new day Thursday night. Ooh, did you like it? It was good. I would say my ranking of the Tom Holland has my heart. I love him so much. So his Spider-Mans are definitely my favorite. And out of his four, I would probably do

[00:07:56] no way home homecoming brand new day. And then far from home would be my ranking. It wasn't bad by any means none of his movies are bad. It's just more story forward and setting up for doomsday. So, and it was very sad because like no one remembered who he was and it was just so lonely. And I didn't like that part.

[00:08:22] I too watched the world cup. I was pretty locked in. I kept calling it the super bowl or the kickball game. And yes, but yeah, I don't know if I got just a lot of the propaganda from TikTok, but also like I was watching Love Island all summer and Peacock had the Telemundo. You can watch it on Telemundo,

[00:08:47] which I enjoyed because it was in Spanish, but I didn't need to like, I could just watch, you know? So I was really excited, but I do feel like it was very interesting for me because I'm not a huge football soccer fan. Like I don't really watch it, but from the outside watching how, especially like Argentina and just

[00:09:12] like a lot of the European teams just were cheating. I'm gonna say it like it was the refs, everything. I was like, does this normally happen? This is so I would watch something and be like, that's real sus. And then I'd go on TikTok and see people saying, this was crazy. So by the time Argentina got to the

[00:09:34] end, I was like, yeah, I'm rooting for anybody else because how do you have a country in South America America and you don't have any black players? Yeah, I was like, this ain't right. And then I started learning players names. Like I know who Mbappe is now. And I'm like, Viva la France! France! There's a couple of young guys that I was like, oh, these guys are actually pretty amazing watching. Yeah.

[00:10:04] I'll watch highlights, you know, little reels on them and stuff like that. So there's actually some young guys that, you know, even Ryland told me about and I was like, oh crap. So yeah, the guy from Spain was really cool. I thought it was super weird that there were so many players that have pictures of them when they're like baby. Like the guy from Spain has a picture of Messi bathing him as a baby. And I'm like, what was this? Like, what is the setup of this? Like, how did this happen? Like everyone's like,

[00:10:33] oh my god, it's so kismet. Like look, he was bathing like he got Messi's powers when he bathed him. But I'm like, but everybody's not answering the question. Why? How is he being anointed by Messi as a child? Why is he bathing him? Who gave their child like this? What like, but also like what is this? Was this a photo? Like, it was so weird. And what tripped me out was this was not the only one. I saw a Reddit thread and then my conspiracy foil, tin foil

[00:11:02] thing started going off because I saw my friend and I were talking about it. She sent me a Reddit thread and there was all these players that are older now that had pictures with Messi when they were babies or little children. And I was like, but it wasn't like, oh, a fan at a game or match. I'm sorry. But it was like these weird photo shoots. And I'm like, I'm so confused by this. And so the moment I went to go click it, the thread was gone. And that's them.

[00:11:32] Oh, I don't have it. I don't have any answers. I just know it's weird. I always think like the men in black people show up and just yeah. So I don't know. I just thought that Argentina was it was beyond like sportsmanship. It was just like blatant kicking, hurting people, doing weird shit, flopping. And I was really disappointed because

[00:12:01] Messi is such a great player. This was his last World Cup. And so it would have just been nice to even if even the fact that they lost that at least he would have, it would have looked like him and his team had honor. They like didn't even face the Spain team. And I'm like, well, no, they got literally like choke punched the other dude. Yeah, that was crazy. That was my thing too. Because like my buddy told me about all the things in the beginning, it was just like a background noise. And then once the games got a little bit more serious,

[00:12:30] it was like, okay, these get actually kind of interesting. And towards the end, even I noticed that it was like, how are they down three zero or two zero with, you know, 15 minutes left, and then they come back and win. So there was some stuff. Yeah, I did. It's kind of hard to watch. It was. Well, and then I was rooting for USA for a little bit. I rooted for USA, Mexico, and Korea. I felt so bad for the South Koreans because when they got home,

[00:13:00] the South Korean population was not nice to them. Like everybody was at the airports, all the other countries were welcome home, there's parades, even though they lost. South Korea was like, at the airports telling them to fuck off. It was bad. Oh no. I was like, damn, even the US isn't this bad. Other things that I'm watching, my sister was here to visit for a week and I was very happy

[00:13:25] to see her. And we had a little date night to watch the Avatar, the new movie. I didn't feel as bad watching it on Paramount because it wasn't my password. So I didn't pay, quote unquote, to watch it. But I was so like, now my entire TikTok feed is just Avatar, Last Airbender stuff. So that and a bunch of Korean dating shows, Better Late Than Single season two,

[00:13:54] Love Lab. And I just started watching something inferno and I'm obsessed. Yeah. Mainly because their dating shows are just like so much more wholesome and like these people are literally trying to find love and it's not like a bunch of sexual shenanigans. Yeah. Horny people on an island.

[00:14:18] Yeah. Or they're like trying to become influencers, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's like too, too obvious now that that's all it is. Right. Seems like it anyway. It's like, geez. At least before it seemed like there was like some real reality sprinkled in there. Yeah. And also it just feels like we're catching up to how red-pilled things have become. Mm-hmm.

[00:14:46] So sometimes I'm seeing on the girl's side that they're being pick-me's and then on the guy's side, it's very like, oh my god, this guy is borderline mentally abusive. Right. So it's kind of creepy. It's like there's no love whatsoever. There's no chivalry whatsoever. So that's been hard to watch. Like it totally takes you out and you don't want to watch it. Yeah. Yeah. Anywho, Jackie, let's get to the game.

[00:15:11] Okay. So our game this week is called Just Tap It In. So we are going to talk about some of our favorites from our timeframe. Some will deal with sports movies, some not, but just we haven't had a discussion about nostalgia in a while. So to start it off, what is everyone's favorite Adam Sandler movie? And Mark, you can go first.

[00:15:39] So I would pick The Waterboy and Click. Those are actually my two favorite Adam Sandler movies. Click's a good one. Very great. If we're talking about the happy Madison verse, it would be Joe Dirt and Grandma's Boy. It wouldn't even be, it wouldn't even be Adam Sandler in one of those movies. Yeah. Yeah. So I just, I just love Waterboy, obviously football, big football guy my whole life.

[00:16:06] Love football. And that was probably kind of one of the movies that probably helped inspire my football career, honestly. Yeah. And then, I don't know, Click always had a, I don't know, I could tear up just thinking about that movie. If you haven't seen Click, watch Click. Man, just life, life goes by quick. Yeah. You think I've always thought about time and just thinking about life milestones and when you hit them and stuff, it's kind of amazing to sit back there and look. So Click always gets me kind of emotional when I watch it. So those two for sure. Danielle?

[00:16:36] Jackie, you want to guess mine and I guess yours? Is yours? Is yours 51st Dates? No, that's yours. And then I have an honorable mention, but 51st Dates is, is it like just go with it or something later? No. It's one you actually don't want. Oh, the wedding singer. Right. Ah, I always forget about it because I don't like it. Exactly. What?

[00:17:05] I know. I know. She doesn't like the eighties. It's a blip. So what's your second favorite one? Billy Madison. Okay. It's very close. I definitely watch 51st Dates more. And then my honorable mention is Bedtime Stories. It's such a fantastic family movie. And I think like it came out in a weird time and it's Adam Sandler. So people didn't think anything of it being a Disney movie. And it's got your girl in it, Danielle. You know, Gary Russell.

[00:17:35] Yeah. I love my girl. So what's everyone's like, what is in your opinion, the best sports comedy movie? Me first. Yeah, go ahead. All right. Now are we, are we keeping to an Adam Sandler movie or just. Okay. Just in general, in our timeframe ish, I'm going to give a little leeway because mine is slightly outside of our time. So yeah. Okay. Yeah.

[00:18:05] I really enjoyed from the nineties, the major league movies. Yes. Yeah. Because again, big baseball as a kid. And for me, sorry, they will always be the Cleveland Indians. Yeah. I get some kind of pass to say that. So I would say the major league movies, both of them, there's a third one, maybe a fourth one sprinkled in there. If you want to watch them, I would probably have to go mighty ducks though. The mighty ducks movies. I love, I love that genre and those kids. And you know, that those classic movies. Definitely.

[00:18:36] I have stick it. Oh, I love that movie. And it is so funny. And it's like one of those movies I kind of forget about, but then every time I watch it, I'm like, this is just a really well done movie. But I do agree with you with the mighty ducks. Like, yeah, just so solid. It's so hard for me to pick, but I would go with probably the sister movie to

[00:19:05] stick it, which is bring it on. Yes. But I think for a while I really did love remember the Titans, but after us covering it, I'm, I'm over it. Mighty ducks is always top tier, but because it's not in our timeframe, except for the third movie. And as much as I love them, it's not my favorite out of the three. And then it was hard because I really do love little giants and Sandlot, but they, they two are also out of our timeframe. So.

[00:19:39] Yeah, I'm going to have to go and bring it on. We can bend it a little bit. Or bend it like Beckham. That I really do love. It is a really good movie. What is, what are our favorite sports movie one liner? And you can have one or two because I know it's hard to choose. You can do it. Tackling to you. I use that one all the time.

[00:20:08] The one I use is not in our timeframe. It's earlier, but anytime there's like, I try to like, say like, Hey, use this or I have something for, and then it doesn't work out. And Ken like is looking for something. I'm always like, toe pick, like use the right thing the first time. Yeah. So we say toe pick a lot in our family, but I also a verbal stem of mine that will just

[00:20:37] pop into my head and it'll be there all day is chicken little flea flicker on two. And then along with that, they're like, you can't pitch to Johnny. I'm Johnny. Like those are like, just live rent free in my head. Oh, another good sports movie. That's not in our timeframe and a league of their own. There's no crying in baseball. Do we prefer VHS or DVD? DVD.

[00:21:07] I say this as the fact that Ken like got my VHS working. And as soon as I put in a VHS to work, it like started eating the tape. And I was like, a DVD won't do this. And it has special features. That was my thought too. Yeah. You can skip chapters. Yeah. What? Yeah. Sorry. I have to rewind. Get out of here.

[00:21:38] What is the best 90s soundtrack? It can be early 2000s as well. Okay. The ones that I listened to the most was My Best Friend's Wedding. And you always knew if I was sad, I was listening to that one. The Romeo and Juliet soundtrack, Fire. Wedding Singer. Mm-hmm.

[00:22:04] I listened to the City of Angels CD a lot, but it was really that one Alanis Morissette song that I just wanted to play in a loop. So, I mean, I could go on for days, but those are the ones that I know I owned and I listened to quite a bit. I couldn't pick one. I couldn't pick one. Sorry. Oh, and the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack was banging. Shoop. Shoop. Yeah. Mark, what do you got? Oh, American Pie.

[00:22:34] Oh, American Pie is good. That one is really good. Every time that movie comes on, I feel like every song I'm just bouncing around singing or doing something to it. I loved when we covered the movie. I loved when we covered the movie. Like, obviously, we saw it a million times growing up or whatever, but I don't know if I put respect on the movie's name. But then when we rewatched it, I was like, you know, this movie was pretty quality.

[00:23:00] Like, I really thought we were going to have to pile on, and it's such a good time capsule. Like, everything about it, from the songs to the cast, it's a pretty good movie. Yeah. There's only a few things that are like, ugh. Yeah. You know? Yeah, that's a very nostalgic movie for me. Love that movie all around. Jackie? For me, it's going to be the Out Cold soundtrack. And then a close second.

[00:23:29] And, like, this is, like, honestly, listen to the shit out of the Out Cold soundtrack. Listen to the shit out of the basketball soundtrack. It was all Pop, Pop, Punk, and Scott. Yeah. And then Can't Hardly Wait. Those were my three on rotate. We listened to Can't Hardly Wait together a lot. Yeah. In the car. That was actually my number two right there. That was very close second. So good. Okay.

[00:23:57] Who's everyone's favorite movie bully? Taylor Vaughn. And I will say to the day I take my last breath, she wasn't really bullying anybody. She just was that bitch. That's all I got to say. A duals rule. I, that kept popping into my head. I'm like, they're the shittiest, like, non-bully bullies. Right.

[00:24:26] But there's, their catchphrase is so catchy. It, like, sticks in your head. I put, I put Kevin McAllister's brother, Buzz. Yes. That's a really good one. For whatever reason, I just, I don't, my brother always bullied me, but that was just like, I don't know. In the movie, you just want him to, like, I don't know. Get one back on him or something, you know? Yeah. I think shooters are really good. Yeah.

[00:24:56] Movie bully. Yeah. Like. I think there's a difference between a bully that just kind of, like, it's like a gnat. You're like, uh. Yeah. Versus one that's, like, literally making you physically angry. Right. Which I think would go, would move from bully to maybe villain. Mm-hmm. I think that maybe that's the difference. What movie would you watch every Sunday afternoon if you had the option to? Mine's easy, 50 First Dates.

[00:25:25] I'll go first. I'm just trying to think, like, what did I just watch a lot back then? Center Stage. Sleepover. That's considered a sports movie. Like, you can't tell me dance isn't. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I would probably Center Stage bring it on. They just never get old. I would say, for me, sports, football movie, Varsity Blues.

[00:25:56] That's just. It got a little bit of everything as a kid. Got to see a little bit of everything in that movie, too. That's always. I could always put that movie on anywhere. Pick it up. Watch it. Best fictional athlete. Julius Campbell. Remember the Titans. I don't know. I just really liked him. My answer is Dean Portman from Mighty Ducks.

[00:26:26] Oh, my God. I didn't think of my baby. Charlie. Charlie, I'm sorry. Charlie's not a very good player, Danielle. I don't. He gets better. Charlie. I'm sorry. Am I supposed to say Adam Banks? Maybe. Cake either. Oh, Jesse was good. I put Bobby Boucher. You have to. Nice. This one's kind of niche.

[00:26:56] Funniest sports announcer. I do. I don't know if it's the funniest. Uh. I'm thinking about the guy. The kid from The Nanny. That was the sports announcer in Mighty Ducks 3. Oh, yeah. And then for some reason, I'm thinking about the announcers from Pitch Perfect. And I'm like, that's not a sport. But they were funny. I mean. Oh, yeah. You're right. It's not a sport.

[00:27:24] I like, I remember watching Major League and I don't remember much about it, but I remember the sports announcer, Harry Doyle, and his like catchphrases where he's like, missed it by an eyelash. And the guy was like three feet from the base and stuff. So that's definitely the one that is stuck in my brain all these years. You. Yeah. Same. That's the only one I could think of. Yeah.

[00:27:53] I think at some point they were drinking whiskey or something. Yeah. He said, who gives a crap and throws the play call sheet or whatever. Yeah. That's, that's immediately where my brain goes to when I think it was sports announcer. Definitely. We could say it at the same time, Jackie. What? Who? The last category. Okay. Movie that deserves a sequel. Sky High. Oh. Yes.

[00:28:22] I was thinking sports movies, but yes. Agreed. Sky High. Oh, okay. Sorry. It has to be a sports movie. It doesn't have to be, but that's where my brain was. When? Yeah. So I have stick it. And then I have what we discussed on the mighty ducks episode, a new movie with Charlie as the coach. That's like his kids team. Yeah. I think would be really cool.

[00:28:52] How about you, Mark? Yeah. I was, I was thinking kind of in the same realm. I mean, he did. I know he had to give more to maybe like a water boy too or something. Yeah. I think they could write a script for that fairly easy. You know what movie? I also really liked a sports movie that would have a really cool sequel would be The Replacements. Hmm. I was thinking She's the Man would be fun.

[00:29:22] Oh, yes. And I'm thinking like, I don't know what the, like the premise would be this time around, but just to see Amanda back, it would be great. Where everyone is. Yeah. And I know this sounds crazy because this movie has the million sequels, but a bring it on sequel, but with the original cast. Yes. And at this point, like they keep trying to make it work and then just like, we, I guess we're letting it go. Yeah.

[00:29:52] All right. Well, I have a question for all of us. Okay. If your life had a sports movie montage, what song would be playing? Gosh. I'm going Gangster's Paradise. Yeah. Like just a really serious song. To a montage of my life, I think would be hilarious.

[00:30:17] Mine would be Ooh La La by Delight because no, that's not, it's Ooh La La, but that's not who sings it. Let me look at it. Let me see. Actually, I wanted to be Delight. And I want it to be. My groove is in the heart. Yes. I love that song. Either that or Barbie girl. By Aqua. That's a really good one.

[00:30:48] This is, this is great because I watched nothing but again, football highlights and everything is like hard hitting. So for whatever reason, I imagine you ladies doing some kind of physical activity with those. Just you're shopping or something. You're bumping into people's shoulder check. Hell yeah. I put, I put bodies by drowning pool. Again, I just, my, my brain goes back to what I did for most of my life was hit people and try to hurt them. Yeah.

[00:31:21] Nice. Well, now it's time to put Mark back in the hot seat for his three employee picks. His previous recommendations included Toy Story, Good Burger, Space Jam, American Pie, Scary Movie, Jurassic Park. The theme this week, I gave him two to choose from either Happy Madison Universe or sports comedies. So let's see what movies he'll stock the shelves with.

[00:31:50] So this is pretty easy for me. I kind of just did one of each and then the last one's both of them. Nice. The first one for me is Grandma's Boy. I remember cousin Jackie came over one summer and showed me Grandma's Boy and watched it in Grandma's living room. Yes. On probably a brand new DVD player. And it was amazing. Probably one of my favorite movies, honestly, of all time. I always, so many quotable things, JP doing his robots to, oh man, it's amazing.

[00:32:18] If you haven't seen Grandma's Boy, that's definitely one of my top movies of all time. Sports comedy would be major league. We talked about it earlier. So those movies in the early 90s were just super good, super good for me. Yeah. And then Waterboy, one of my favorite movies of all time, favorite football movie of all time. Love it.
