[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_01]: the magic and groove to the beat.
[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_00]: This week on the No More Late Fees podcast, we are joined again by my brother Johnny.
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Johnny!
[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Howdy.
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Good to be back.
[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so happy you came back. We know you were very nervous on our first episode you did
[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_00]: with us.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I know, I thought we were going to have to drug you or something, but got you back.
[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh man, all right. I'm glad to be back. I'm glad to be back. Thank you.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We do get quite a few comments about that episode.
[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: People love a night's tale. Didn't know. News to me.
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey man, it's such a good, so good. I had it on my screen before we started here. I
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_02]: had to switch all the on.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_01]: How are things going on your end?
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, real good. Working out, doing rugs.
[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, your rugs are amazing and still waiting for mine.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I have this Nintendo one. Yours is coming up next.
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_01]: It better be John. I hate to threaten you.
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_02]: This is a passion project. I had to get this passion project out of my system
[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_02]: and then I'll start with yours. I promise.
[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Just so the listeners know, John made an amazing No More Late Fees rug for Jackie
[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_01]: and I've been sitting in jealousy ever since.
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, isn't it good just to like, you know, it's palpable now, right?
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, it's not good, Johnny.
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I have been threatened that she's going to come visit and just take it.
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, it could be like, what's the traveling pants for the travel rug?
[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but my mom is going to be like, where the hell is that going?
[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Because apparently, you know, this is her house.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it doesn't go with her postal color scheme.
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll make it work. I'll put it right by my bedside.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I feel it when I get out of bed.
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like your little office areas like should be its own little section.
[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_00]: You could put whatever you want there.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_01]: No, Jackie, I don't own this house.
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't own this room.
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, anywho, as we discussed in the episode,
[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_01]: the iconic dance number in Napoleon Dynamite is like one of the things people talked about most
[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_01]: in this movie.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And so it got me thinking we should do a dance battle.
[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Not literally because I'd win.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I don't know.
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Johnny's pretty impressive on the dance.
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: That is true.
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Johnny does have some surprising moves.
[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to lie.
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I have I have been shocked a few times over the years.
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: But it made me think about like the 90s and 2000s.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_01]: There's so many like just not just dance movies, but just random dance moments.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to give us all some time to think of two of your favorites from movies from the
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: 90s and 2000s, and then we will try to rank all of them.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'll give you some time to think.
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_01]: You said, of course, I would just let's just do two for now.
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Two dance battles we should have.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_02]: At least two thousand.
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Just like it's either a solo dancing or just like randomly dance.
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I had mine in my head and now I can't remember.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I have both of mine.
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I have one, but I'm like, oh, is Jackie going to say that?
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I have two, but I want to have at least one backup just in case.
[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_00]: There's just so many.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I think I have a few just in case.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Start with Johnny.
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_02]: So both John Travolta and them because out of one and then that are the other one.
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_02]: The one with him and Umar Thurman in Pulp Fiction when they're dancing on the floor.
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I was one of mine.
[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Good.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad I went first.
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the other one was just came to mind that the dream sequence he had with
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Kirstie Alley and look, who's talking now.
[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_02]: So those are my two.
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Mine.
[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_01]: We just covered it.
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: So the white chicks dancing.
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorites.
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_01]: There's so many other scenes and I'm having a hard time picking between.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that time after time scene in Romy and Michelle, I do love that one.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to go the bar scene in Hot Chick.
[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_00]: That was, I thought of it.
[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And now I have our decision.
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go Fung Sol brother and she's all that.
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_00]: At prom.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_01]: We're just randomly choreographed our dance that everyone just happens to know.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_00]: It's my favorite part of she's all that.
[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: What about the, it's not a movie, but the number of the friends.
[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, the routine.
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_01]: My like honorable mention is the tango and true lies.
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_00]: That is good.
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_00]: My honorable mention was the intro to bring it on.
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I do like pretty much anytime Cameron Diaz does her, oh, the dance in the mask.
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought about that.
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_01]: And then the dance, any dance that she doesn't Charlie's
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_01]: whatever random ass reason.
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to rank them.
[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Sam Rockwell has a good dance number.
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he does.
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_01]: He does like to do his little moonwalk sliding thing.
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I was obsessed with that move for a while.
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Magic.
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think for me, Pulp Fiction would be number one.
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I agree.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it just ties so into his, in the like nostalgia, because you think of Saturday
[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_01]: night.
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Fever.
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll go with it because I'm outnumbered on this.
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Number two, I'm going to say the white chicks whole thing because the girl doing it.
[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And then when they break dance.
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Chef's kiss.
[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:07:28] That's good.
[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I would submit the she's all that prom dance.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: It's very iconic.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And then like you said, Danielle, it's just like, when were we all working on this?
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Right?
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, when was everyone getting?
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_01]: But the thing that always pisses me off about that dance sequence is that like you we talked
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_01]: about it on that episode that we did.
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_01]: The do a hill is an amazing dancer.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And they have him at the tail end of that kind of doing some moving, they cut it off.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, what is happening here?
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Why did he not get a full scene?
[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So that upsets me.
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Like.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Justice for do lay.
[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember the look who's talking now.
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Dance.
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Like a sweet, like ballroom dance that they do.
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like when they it's a dream sequence.
[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And they think like one another, like cheating on.
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, are there other people like this?
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: They're dancing with like their cheating partners, but they're right.
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Like looking at each other and stuff.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's weird.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: That was like my dream where they're kind of seen together.
[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I would say the hot chick be the next one.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe because I just love the song.
[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, and like the whole thing of what's his face?
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember.
[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Rob Schneider?
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_00]: That dirt bag.
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_00]: In like women's clothing and like doing the dance in low rise pants and stuff.
[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just so good.
[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_00]: And like he thinks he is the hottest shit.
[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_00]: So so far for our dance battle.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: What do we got, Jackie?
[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_00]: So we have Pulp Fiction, White Chicks, She's All That, The Hot Chick, Romeo and Michelle
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and Look Who's Talking Now.
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel good.
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_01]: So I do have a question for all of us.
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_01]: If we were going to have our own solo cut a rug moment, which song from the 90s and
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_01]: 2000s would you have?
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Dance moment.
[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Man, I had my singing moment already to go.
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, I saw Deadpool Wolverine recently.
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_02]: That beginning sequence that in sync.
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Was it bye bye bye?
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So I would have to do like bye bye bye.
[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Some some choreographed dance that I could just jam out to for sure.
[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_02]: An NSYNC or Backstreet Boys, one of the two.
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Any song from one of them.
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: For me, it's most likely going to be a DMX song and it's just so many to choose from.
[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_01]: But I think Get It On The Floor might be my number one pick.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: But X Gonna Give It To You.
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Might do it for me.
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_01]: It is.
[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_01]: It's very difficult.
[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Can we do a mashup?
[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I would love that.
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it could just be a full DMX melody and I would have full on choreography for the
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_01]: entire thing.
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Like Party Up, X Gonna Give It To You, Rough Riders Anthem, What These Bitches Want.
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I would do it.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_01]: All of it.
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_01]: What about you, Jen?
[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_01]: That's for you.
[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So if I had a solo dance, I would probably go all the small things by Blink-182.
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I always have you repping my Blink-182 and that is one of their only songs that has like
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_00]: choreographed dance to it.
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And it is ingrained in the brain.
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_00]: So.
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_02]: That's such a good choice.
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I need to go back and rewatch that.
[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't recall if John had employee picks or not.
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, he did.
[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he did?
[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Dumb and Dumber, A Knight's Tale, and House on Haunted Hill.
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_01]: So now you have three more to pick, John.
[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So three more?
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that you would recommend if you were working at Blockbuster.
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_02]: The Faculty, for sure.
[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Good one.
[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Thirteen Ghosts.
[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, man.
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, whichever alien, like was Alien Resurrection?
[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that's the one with Winona Ryder.
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Alien Resurrection for sure.
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you see the new one?
[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't.
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, I've heard it's really good though.
[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Alien, I'm out.
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not seeing any of those.
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_01]: No, those.
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_02]: You go to the movie with me, you see Alien, and I'll make your rug for you.
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Johnny, there's no caveat.
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_01]: That rug, Bill promised.
[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_01]: You have to offer something new.
[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I know.
[00:12:35] I know.
[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_01]: If you have a favorite dance movie scene or song that you would pump up the jam to,
