In Guacamelee you take control of Juan Aguacate, a simple farmer from a small village in Mexico. Out and about for a day of festivities in his village chaos erupts at El Presidente's mansion. Juan heads there to investigate only to find an evil charro skeleton named Carlos Calaca in the midst of kidnapping El Presidente's Daughter. Well over matched Juan is struck down. He awakens in the underworld where he is gifted with the powers of a luchador thus becoming Guacamelee and setting forth on his quest to save El Presidente's Daughter.
